Do something different. Get Real.
How do you want to spend your summer?
We realize that the most important thing a summer internship can offer is the ability to see one's impact as an integral part of a real product team doing real work.
Real rewards undergraduate and post-graduate students' desire to contribute with autonomy, responsibility and a genuine opportunity to impact our emerging internet media products and services. Real is committed to providing challenging and rewarding internships as well as full-time positions.
It could be a feature you develop for the next version of the RealPlayer; it could be your input that helps determine what content we decide to feature; it could be the price point you recommend for our newest product. Examples of intern impact at Real are endless.
Testimonial
"As a Master of Business Administration student with an emphasis on Finance and Marketing, Real's internship program has helped narrow down my career goals. I have been able to relate what I am learning in classes with hands-on experiences on the job. This makes both class and work more meaningful and useful to me in the future. Overall, it has been a great experience and will lead me in the right direction when I begin my job search. I would highly recommend this internship to others looking for a career in the digital multimedia industry."
— Mohammed Chaara, Business Development Manager Intern '07, Masters of Business Administration, David Eccles School of Business

Internship FAQ
Where are the internships located?
All internships are located in beautiful Seattle, Washington, home of Real. We are located across from Pier 70 on the Seattle Waterfront, just blocks from the Pike Place Market and the Space Needle.
When do the internships occur?
Our Summer intern program runs for 12 weeks, typically between the months of June and August. We are flexible with start and end dates depending on your school schedule, but plan on a 12 week experience.
I live in Florida (or Maine, or Canada, or …) How do I get there?
For interns relocating to Real from outside of Seattle, we provide round-trip travel reimbursement (airfare or gas mileage), a monthly housing bonus and shipping allocation.
Where will I live?
Real utilizes local business connections to help interns find 3 month housing options. We also offer an apartment or roommate finder service, in addition to putting you in contact with other soon-to-be interns who are interested in a rooming together.
Are the internships paid?
Yes. Internship compensation is either hourly or salary depending on the position and rates are competitive.
What other benefits are there?
Interns who consistently work at least 30 hours/week are eligible for all company paid holidays. All interns are also given a transportation subsidy and access to in-house facilities and services (work out room, on site massage, bowling alley, etc.)
What is the process to be hired on as an intern?
Check out our current openings. Submit your resume and let us know what you're interested in doing. If there is a potential match, you will be contacted for a phone interview — the first step.
What types of skills and backgrounds do you look for?
Because we offer such a wide variety of internships, there isn't one particular skill set on which we focus. We're more interested in finding the best fit for talented, creative and driven students interested in changing the way the world interacts with media.
What else does the summer experience have to offer?
Each Intern receives an in depth orientation upon starting at Real. We also have an organized Mentorship program to provide interns with personal and professional guidance throughout the summer. Mentors spend significant time per week with their intern, on mutual projects, skill development, or just Q&A. Interns also have a full slate of events that balance educational opportunities with organized social activities. Real is committed to making sure interns have all the tools they need to enjoy and succeed in a professional, challenging, and fun experience.
